Human male, born LY 330, in First Village. Died 380, in Ship. Carpenter and shipwright.

Gallen (pronounced 'găl·ĕn) is remembered for having conceived of shipbuilding, and for founding the village of Ship. He is also credited with inspiring people to explore the coast of First Land, which led to the discovery of the five major isles around the continent, and the founding of new villages on each of them.

As a side note, the playwright Tooblan would later write a play called Gallen II, in which he created a fictitious character who was said to be the son of Gallen, who had a series of adventures while exploring uncharted waters, mostly far from First Land. In reality, there is no record of any of Gallen's children, nor whether he even had any.
