Drop River was discovered by the settlers of Tonad in LY 225, though the source of the river was not discovered until 600, by a group of explorers from Sorret. The river originates in Drop Lake, flowing down through the Drop Lake Mountains (both the lake and the mountain range were named after the river), before dropping into an underground pass (the Drop River Pass) which runs for roughly 500 miles before emerging above ground at the spot where Tonad was founded. From there it continues through the Drop River Forest, until finally reaching another mountain range (where it runs through a valley). This range (the Drop River Mountains, not to be confused with the Drop Lake Mountains) extends to the northwest coast of First Land, where Drop River empties into First Sea. In 375, Drop River Bridge was completed just north of Drop River Forest, allowing for more direct travel between Shipsister and First Village.
